Summary Asfandyar Wali has welcomed Altaf Hussains retraction of blames against ANP.
MQM chief Altaf had accused ANP leaders of receiving millions of dollars from the United States to take part in 2008 general elections.His allegations stirred political tension between the two parties, with both sides demanding a ban on each other. But in a statement from London today, Altaf regretted that his remarks hurt the sentiments of ANP leaders and activists. “I withdraw these remarks,” he said in the statement.The MQM chief said he wants to end the bitterness between the two parties as Pakistan needs peace and reconciliation.
