Floods in Sindh: Marvi Memon writes to CJ

Summary Former MNA Marvi Memon wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan regarding Sindh floods.

She requested to the court to bring the responsible persons to justice for committing criminal negligence.She said the flood affectees of Sanghar have been aided by Rs 11 per person.Marvi alleged that the government is responsible for devastation and destruction as it has not followed the recommendations offered by the Flood Commission set up last year, adding that the government also violated the orders of the Supreme Court.She said that she has visited the flooded areas where situation of the affectees is too pitiable to mention while aid provided by the government is too meagre to meet their needs. She said that establishment was busy in giving protocol to politicians.She also requested to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to conduct an inquiry against the people who committed criminal negligence.A three-member bench of the Supreme Court is set to hear the final report of the Flood Commission set up last year.
