Nisar confirms familys dual nationality, may resign as PAC chief

Addressing a news conference, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly said that his track record as a politician has been unblemished. About the Wikileaks disclosures that his family has dual nationality (keep American citizenship too), visibly-upset Nisar said his in-laws basically have American citizenship.He said he keeps his family life private; not even “my family members know about my personal family life”. He said his children got US citizenship without his knowledge as he rarely intrudes in such matters. He said now the decision to relinquish the citizenship couldn’t be taken until the children are adult.According to sources, Ch Nisar decided to resign as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, an effective parliamentary forum that has been instrumental in highlighting corruption in various departments.The talk of him quitting as PAC chairman has been around for quite some time. However, he had earlier appeared before the media weeks ago to clarify that he would continue as PAC chief on instructions from the party brass.
