NDMA starts copter service to provide relief goods to flood affectees

Summary National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has started helicopter service for relief operation.

According to a notification issued by National Disaster Management Authority, rescue and relief teams have been dispatched to the areas affected by flash flood in Sindh.At least 224,000 people have been affected by the recent floods in Sindh and NDMA has established 374 relief camps in the flood affected areas where 93,860 people have been shifted.The NDMA has distributed 283,000 ration packs, 17,o00 tents, 40,000 blankets, 30,000 mosquito nets, and 13 water purification units among the flood affectees in Sindh.National Disaster Management Authority has also warned district management authorities in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Kashmir about the expected heavy rains in the areas. Meanwhile Wapda has been put on high alert due to rise in level of water at Mangla and Tarbela Dam.
