Summary Three people were killed and several injured when trains collided near Badami Bagh, Lahore.
According to reports, Babu train coming from Narowal had halted as a child crossing over railway lines near Sabzi Mandi was crushed to death. While the train had halted to deal with the eventuality, Karachi-bound Khyber Mail coming from Peshawar rear-ended it.The rear bogies of Babu train were smashed and turned upside down. Two people died on the spot while several injured have reportedly been shifted to a nearby hospital.A report said the signal for the Khyber Mail was green when it rammed into the stationary Babu train. The driver or fireman of the Khyber Mail was killed on the spot.It is a common practice that the people living by cross railway lines against all safety precautions and warnings.
