Summary Judicial Commission (JC) has recommended extension in service of 6 additional judges from Sindh.
JC met under Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. The meeting was attended by Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Sindh law minister, Attorney General of Pakistan and senior judges of the Supreme Court.Proposal was put forth about extension in service period of 6 additional judges of Sindh High Court in the meeting. These judges including Justice Shahid Anwar, Justice Ghulam Sarwar, Justice Ahmad Ali, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aqeel Abbas and Justice Irfan Saadat were going to be retired in September on attaining the age of superannuation. JC has now approved extension in their service and parliamentary committee will take decision to give final approval.
