More than a dozen persons were arrested while an unknown person fled after delivering a parcel bomb to residents of a house in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi.The Rangers and police launched a joint search operation in Bilal Colony of Korangi area during late hours of Thursday. The whole area was cordoned off during the operation.Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik also arrived in Bilal Colony and monitored the operation.Talking to media on this occasion, Rehman Malik said that more than a dozen people were arrested during the operation. He said that the miscreants would be dealt with iron hand wherever found in the city.On the other side, an unidentified man delivered a parceled hand grenade to the residents of a house in bloc No 2 of Gulistan-e-Johar and fled from the scene. The bomb disposal squad rushed to the scene and diffused the bomb.Earlier, the Sindh Home Department issued the notification to extend the powers of Rangers for another 3 months. The Home Department of the provincial government ordered to extend the powers of the Rangers to help the Police Department and provide security to the citizens of the metropolis.The Sindh government has also given special powers to Rangers and now it can raid at any place without search warrant.
