Summary The Interior Ministry was ordered to cancel the transfer of the Hajj corruption probing officer.
A three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the Hajj corruption case on Tuesday.The interior secretary submitted a report regarding the transfer of Hajj corruption case probing officer Hussain Asghar. It was stated in the reported that Hussain Asghar could not be reappointed as the probing officer of Hajj corruption case due to the deteriorating law and order situation.The chief justice remarked that Asghar showed a positive progress in the probe and ordered the Interior Ministry to cancel his transfers and bring him back to the Federal Investigation Agency.The chief justice said that if Asghar were not reappointed in the FIA, action would be taken against the responsible for violating the court orders.The hearing of the case is adjourned for two weeks.
