Summary The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to observe mourning today.
Addressing to a press conference on Moday , MQM Deputy Convenor Faooq Sattar said that the MQM has decided to observe August 23 as the day of peaceful mourning across the country over the bloodshed in Karachi. He requested all the citizens to show solidarity against the killings in the city. Farooq said that the PPP ministers were supporting Lyari gangs adding that the terrorists under government support were attacking public property and human life.He alleged that the terrorists of Peoples Aman Committee were involved in extortion, murder incidents, kidnapping for ransom, firing and bomb attacks.Meanwhile, Sattar appealed transporters, traders and industrialists to support the MQM by closing down their businesses today.He also urged the government to take notice of the killing and take prompt action against the terrorists and those ministers who were supporting them.
