The affectees of Attababad Lake were protesting on the arrival of Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Mehdi Shah against the non-implementation of relief package announce by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. Police opened the fire at the protesters, killing three people including a man and his son, injuring seven other protesters.Later the enraged protesters attacked Aliabad police station and set it on fire. They also torched four vehicles and other government buildings.The sources said that the affectees of Attabad Lake were protesting against delay in the compensation at the arrival of Chief Minister Mehdi Shah.The injured persons have been shifted to the DHQ Hunza. Heavy contingent of police have been deployed to avert any untoward incident.
