Summary Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said demand for deweaponising country is gaining momentum.
“But it is imperative that Karachi be deweaponized in particular,” he said this while talking to media outside Parliament House.He said the government therefore had decided to computerise arms licences record. “We fixed August 31 last date for revocation of arms license but it has been extended to September 30,” he added.It will be compulsory to present old licence at the time of obtaining new license, he held. “We have blocked several illegal SIMs and no SIM will be issued in future without National Identity Card,” he stated.“With reference to me some reports have been published that I have violated Supreme Court orders. In this regard I have sued a sum of Rs 1 billion,” he stated.
