PAC denied FATA secret funds audit

A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee’s special committee was held in Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Yasmeen Rehman, to review the FATA Secretariat’s objection to the committee’s audit of the secret funds.FATA Additional Chief Secretary Fazl Karim Khattak said that the record about the issuance of secret funds could not be issued to the audit team due to its sensitivity.The audit authorities said that the additional chief secretary had no authority to impede the work of the audit team.Giving a briefing to the committee, the additional chief secretary said that no foreigners could enter Peshawar or FATA without a special permit.The foreigners traveling without special permit are stopped at the toll plaza and not allowed to enter Peshawar, he added.He said that that the US was doing the most developmental work in FATA.
