Karachi: Police, Rangers conduct search operation

Heavy contingents of police and Rangers personnel and commandos cordoned off Qasba Colony, Bukhari Colony Gulfamabad and Old Sabzimandi areas of Orangio Town and conducted a door-to-door search operation.Armoured vehicles and police mobiles were4 present in Orangi Town.Police detained two suspects during the operation.Earlier, Interior Minister Rehman Malik had said that there was no option for the military operation in Karachi and collective steps were needed to tackle the growing unrest in the city.Malik said that all parties would have to work hand in hand to restore peace in the restive city.He said operation would not be conducted but consensus would be formed after discussing issues with all political parties of the city. “Some forces want to derail the present government,” he added. “Wherever needed police and Rangers will work together to crush any threat,” he said.
