Summary Sirajul Haq lauded Taliban for declaring peace and protection of diplomats and foreigners.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that Afghanistan has become a graveyard for the world s great powers, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a function in memory of former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hassan at Nazimabad Eidgah Ground in Karachi, Siraj-ul-Haq said the Afghan people had fought oppression and barbarism for two decades and now the world must respect the will of the people of Afghanistan.
Sirajul Haq lauded the Taliban for declaring peace, non-retaliation against opponents, protection of diplomats and foreigners, and amnesty for rivals which, he said, was unprecedented in the modern civilised world.
Apart from close friends of late Munawar Hassan, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, Hafiz Naeem and Assadullah Bhutto also addressed the function.
