Shahbaz blasts Govt for 'contempt of court'

Summary Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif said he would not remain silent on contempt of courts.

Shahbaz said the federal government was setting aside court orders to hide its own corruption. Addressing a news conference in Lahore, the CM said the federal government could go to any extent to cover its corruption. He said PM Gilani’s attitude in this regard is quite disappointing.PM Gilani on Tuesday made Secretary Establishment Sohail Ahmed OSD after he obeyed Supreme Court orders and produced notification for restoring Hussain Asghar as investigation officer in the Hajj corruption case. When the proceedings started, the secratry told the court he was unable to restore the IO, but during the day he obeyed court orders and restored the investigation officer. Sohail was made OSD shortly after obeying SC orders.Shahbaz said if the blantant violation of court orders continued, his party would be forced to take the needful steps to put things right. He said the PPP has declared war by violating court orders, and the PML-N takes up the challenge to have court orders obeyed.The PML-N leader vowed that his party would not dither from sacrificing its government for the honour and prestige of the judiciary. He said all know President Zardari created hurdles to the judiciary’s restoration. He said he considers contempt of court by the federal government a declaration of war.
