Summary The KESC administration and union reached an agreement on several issues during their meeting.
The KESC administration and union meeting was held in Sindh Governor’s House that was attended by Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad, Sindh Interior Minister Manzoor Wasan, the Karachi commissioner and the KESC administration and union representatives.It was decided in the meeting that a joint committee would be formed to finalise the issues between the two parties.It was also decided that non-core staff workers will not return to their duties until the dispute is completely resolved, and their salaries will be paid via a relief package. They will also be exempted from attendance.Meanwhile, the volunteer separation scheme will also be continued. Union leaders have pledged their support to the KESC in continuing routine work at offices, while a commission will be formed within a week to settle all disagreements, including cases registered against the KESC workers. The KESC workers’ union has been protesting for months against the termination of hundreds of KESC workers.
