Summary Supreme Court has rejected governments plea seeking more time for the appointment of NAB Chairman.
The federal government had filed application in SC and sought extension in deadline for Chairman NAB’s appointment.Two-member bench of Supreme Court comprising Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali conducted hearing on of the plea which was rejected.The application was submitted by Attorney General KK Agha on behalf of the government, pleading that the hearing of judicial review in the JusticeDeedar Shah case was yet underway, therefore the deadline for the appointment of the Chairman NAB be extended.According to the application, the issue of the appointment of NAB Chairman is already under process in the court.It was also prayed that the Deedar Shah case should be heard on a priority.The SC had given a month to the government for the appointment of Chairman NAB and the Prosecutor General. The deadline given by the Supreme Court has already ended.
