Police constable martyred in grenade attack on police van in Mardan

MARDAN (Dunya News) - A driver was martyred in a hand grenade attack of unknown terrorists on a police mobile van in Mardan while the vehicle was damaged and the attackers fled. Security has been tightened in the city following the attack.

According to District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan, the mobile van belonged to Shahbaz Garhi police station. Driver of the vehicle Constable Abrar was returning from police line at the time of the incident.

He said that unknown terrorists hurled a hand grenade at a moving van near Dagai area of Parhoti police station, injuring Constable Abrar.

He said that the rescue team reached the spot and shifted the injured driver to MMC where he later succumbed to his injuries. Security has been beefed up in the area following the incident.
