Tehran: Zardari urges regional currencies use for trade

Summary President Asif Ali Zardari met with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.

During his one-day visit to Iran, President Zardari proposed that instead of using foreign currencies, the countries should use regional currencies for trade.Both the leaders discussed bilateral ties, cooperation in energy sector, Pak-Iran gas pipeline project and formation of joint border management team.They also discussed to increase the bilateral trade volume to $4 billion.President Zardari had a meeting with Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei and discussed the post US troops withdrawal situation.Both the leaders vowed to trounce terrorism.
