Summary Senates committee on Foreign Affairs ordered to investigate the US trainers presence in Pakistan.

Senate’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Senator Salim Saifullah said that the government was not providing correct information about Shamsi Airbase.The Foreign Office told the committee that the United States would provide $300 million aid instead of $800 million, adding that cut in aid was in response to the cutback in the number of US trainers in Pakistan.Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar informed the meeting that relations with India would not be affected following the blasts in Mumbai and talks between Pakistan and Indian would continue as scheduled.The committee directed the Foreign Ministry to ensure that dialogue with India be result oriented.
