MQM stages countrywide protest against Mirza

Party workers staged a protest in Karachi, Sukkur and Hyderabad in Sindh, while also demonstrating in Punjab and Balochistan. The protesters blocked roads by burning tyres. Effigies of Mirza were also set ablaze and clubbed by angry protesters.Petrol and CNG stations were forced shut in Sukkur, while reports of shots being heard were also received. Mirpur Khas like other areas observed a shutterdown on the party’s call. Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Kotri Tando Adam, Khairpur and Nawabshah also observed a shutterdown.Protests were also held in Lahore and other parts of Punjab. Protesters burnt effigies of Mirza and tyres in front of the Lahore Press Club and blocked traffic. Protests were also held in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and other Punjab cities.
