PML-N workers held for firing in Faisalabad freed

Sources said the workers have been released as police didn’t pursue cases against them. Also, the sections invoked against them were all bailable. Appearing before magistrates, investigation officers declared the arrested workers innocent and absolved them of carrying weapons. Neither did police seek physical remand of the accused. Sources said the city leadership of the party had threatened the provincial leadership with protests and rally in case the arrested workers were not freed. The provincial PML-N leadership succumbed to the pressure. Former MNA Ch Sher Ali had criticised arrest of party workers and warned the administration against pursuing cases.
