Karachi CIA arrest 7 suspects, seize cache of arms, drugs

The arrested men have been charged with involvement in Lyari gang war, murders and links to the Taliban.Addressing a news conference, CIA SSP Ch Aslam said Ali Imran Shah of the banned Tehrik-e-Swat was arrested near Khyber Chowk in Ittehad Town. A TT pistol was found on him. He is wanted in several terrorism activities, including attacks on Army check-posts and convoys and blowing up schools. The SSP said Arshad Pappu Group’s Sohail Abru and Sirajuddin were arrested in the Lyari Khadda area for involvement in Lyari gang wars. Four kalashnikovs, 10 hand grenades, one rifle, several cartridges and 8kg marijuana was recovered from them. The SSP said in another crackdown, four suspects of murders, intention to murder and robberies were held in Maripur. They are M Nabi, M Nadeem, Chand and M Asif. Arms have also been recovered from them.
