Summary Duration of unscheduled load shedding has surged as shortfall has reached 4,729 MW.
According to the PEPCO, the country is producing 13,158 MW, while demand is 17,87MW. Hydel production is 5,000MW whereas thermal production is 1,790MW. IPPs and rental power plants are producing 6,204MW and 134 MW respectively.The power outage is varying between 8 hours a day in the urban areas and 12 hours a day in the rural areas.
