Summary All seems set for the government to scale up gas prices yet again.

The Petroleum Ministry has sent a summary to the Prime Minister. The approval will raise prices of CNG to over Rs 100 a kilogram and LPG by Rs 5 a kilogram.The summary recommends an increase of up to 69 percent in gas prices for various blocks. It recommends an increase of 15 percent for domestic users while 18 percent for commercial users. The gas is suggested to be made 76 percent expensive for electricity-generation plants while 96 percent for the fertilizer plants.On the other hand, two largest LPG producers – OGDCL and PARCO, have raised prices from Rs 8,000 a tonne Rs 11,00 a tonne. The Distribution Association has said LPG prices will go up by Rs 5 a kg in a couple of days.
