Summary Those who say 'vote ko izzat do' do not support election reforms: Firdous Ashiq
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that on the one hand, some people use the slogan of ‘vote ko izzat do(respect the vote)’ but on the other, they do not support election reforms.
Responding to the press conference of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, she said that Nawaz Sharif is sitting pretty in London after plundering the nation. She also condemned Maryam, saying that she has tried to mislead the country with her toxic narrative.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that our leader did not make policies to reward his own family members, nor is he a fugitive from the courts. All these achievements are accredited to the Sharif family only.
She said that Imran Khan has destroyed the system of rotational reigns by two family parties. For them, democracy is only when they are in power. The educated people of Pakistan trusted Imran Khan by dumping family politics into the sea.
She questioned whether Maryam Nawaz would explain why she had closed her Twitter account after getting bail, or why she remained silent during the election of Chairman Senate?
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that on the one hand, the opposition and PML-N used the slogan of ‘vote ko izzat do’ but on the other, did not support electoral reforms and disassociated themselves from the Senate election reforms.
She said that Imran Khan’s call for elections to be held by the show of hands has made Maryam anxious. Her party started the politics of ‘horse trading’ but now, Imran Khan is going to bury it for good.
