Summary Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has asked why Punjab deployed 8000 security personnel during AJK elections.
The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting said their purpose was to harass the voters and commit rigging across Punjab, but even then PML-N was defeated and PPP emerged as a single majority party. She said 3,000 policemen and 5,000 special branch personnel were sent from Punjab to AJK. Nawaz Sharif should accept the reality that despite the hooliganism indulged in by his party candidates and workers at the polling stations, they suffered a humiliating defeat, she added.
