The results of 35 seats of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly have been confirmed.According to the results, the Pakistan People’s Party is leading with 20 seats, the Pakistan Muslim League-N won in nine constituencies while the Muslim Conference secured four seats. Two independent candidates have also won the elections.“The doors are open for the Muslim Conference to join the coalition and the PPP will welcome Muslim Conference for the formation of the government,” Kashmir Affairs Minister Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said.He said that the decision for the next AJK prime minister would be taken by the party leadership but it would be from the PPP.There are three PPP candidates, Barrister Sultan Mehmood, Chaudhry Abdul Majid and Chuadhry Latif Akbar, racing for the AJK premiership.Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani spoke with Muslim Conference President Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan to discuss the post-elections scenario. According to sources, the PPP has offered AJK presidency to Attique.The second largest party in the AJK Legislative Assembly PML-N will sit on the opposition benches and try to persuade independent candidates to join the opposition.
