LAHORE (Dunya News) - Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid says that providing free health care to every Pakistani is the dream of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to details, a high level meeting was held in the Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid. The meeting was attended by Health Secretary Barrister Nabeel Awan, Special Secretary Iqbal Hussain, Additional Secretary Development Dr Asif Tufail, Project Director Punjab Health Initiative Management Company Khurram Lodhi, representatives of State Life Insurance Company and other officials.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said that as per the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, universal health coverage would be provided across Punjab. We will provide better health care to every family in the province, she said.

The Minister said that distribution of Sehat Insaf Card to the public would be ensured in three phases. We are making efforts to provide best possible health facilities to the common man through this card, she added.

She said that in the first phase, Sehat Insaf cards have been distributed to 5.2 million families in Punjab. Data of families belonging to different demographics is being collected which will help the government identify deserving families.
