LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a comprehensive relief package for the traders affected by the fire at Hafeez Center in Lahore.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar while addressing the business community during a visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today. Addressing the industrialists and business community, Usman Buzdar said that a relief package of Rs 5 billion would be given to the traders affected by the fire at Hafeez Center.

The CM said that as soon as the fire incident was reported, he directed the concerned agencies of the Punjab government to reach the spot immediately and he himself continued to monitor the relief activities.

Sardar Usman Buzdar said that he was deeply saddened over the financial loss suffered by traders. In this difficult time, we stand with all affected vendors and shopkeepers. It was announced that the Punjab government will provide loans on very easy terms in collaboration with the Bank of Punjab to rehabilitate the businesses. The government has allocated Rs 5 billion in this regard.

Under the government’s scheme, affectees can either repair their damaged shops and make it usable or buy a new one, he said. The government will provide about Rs 1.6 billion in mark-up subsidy under this relief package.
