Summary SC has directed the Federal Government to issue notice for the appointment of chairman NAB.
Otherwise the powers of Deputy Chairman NAB would end automatically. The writ filed by Al-Jihad Trust was heard by 3-member bench under the chairmanship of Justice Javed Iqbal.According to the writ, it was alleged that Deputy Chairman NAB was appointed by Chairman NAB and his contract was expired on April 30, 2001. The writ petitioner also alleged that Deputy Chairman was misusing his powers, which is violation of law. He prayed to the court that the powers of the accused should be withdrawn declaring his appointment null and void.The judgment of the writ was announced by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa in Lahore Registry. According to the verdict, it was said the notification of the appointment of Chairman and Prosecutor General NAB should be issued within 30 days otherwise Federal Government would be responsible for the aftermaths.
