Summary Govt taking solid steps to get farmer back on his feet: Qaisar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar said that government is taking solid steps to get the farmer back on his feet for prosperity of the country.
Chairing the Special Committee on Agriculture meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the purpose of the special committee of parliament is to develop agriculture sector.
He said attention to the agricultural sector is important for greater development in less time and to increase the agriculture growth rate, the volume of agricultural loans must be increased.
Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Raza Baqir in his video link address said banks are monitoring agricultural sector loans and the volume of agricultural loans in the last financial year reaches 1225 billion rupees.
He said during last financial year, 2.8 million small farmers were given agricultural loans.
