Summary How will the govt fund Rs5000 bn Ravi city project, asks Ahsan Iqbal
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal has said that PTI has plunged the country into a quagmire of debts, how does it expect to fund the Ravi urban city project, estimated to cost Rs 5000 billion?
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PML-N leader said that yesterday the government put up a plaque for the Ravi Urban project worth Rs 5,000 billion. The question is where Rs 5,000 billion will come from when it doesn’t even have Rs 10 billion for universities, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said that Rs 28 billion is required for Diamer Bhasha dam yet the government has set aside only Rs 16 billion. Moreover, the government is not providing funds for national projects or even higher education.
The PML-N leader said that the people have extreme lack of confidence in the government, investors are not trusting its policies. Its bid to pass self-serving legislation along with FATF laws was also exposed, further decreasing confidence.
