Benazir Bhutto’s name will live on in our hearts: Qamar Zaman Kaira

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira has claimed that Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry did not make the statement regarding party in-fighting by himself, instead, he gave it at someone else’s behest.

Qamar Zaman Kaira, while talking to media about criticism against BISP, said that PPP started Benazir Income Support Program aimed at empowering women despite much opposition, but Asif Ali Zardari was adamant on making Benazir Bhutto’s dream a reality.

He said that NADRA vehicles were sent to far off villages to register women for the program and give them identity cards. He said that name of Benazir Bhutto is close to the people’s hearts and cannot be forgotten.

The PPP leader said that Benazir Income Support Program should be run under the same name and under the same vision. If the government wants to change the name of this program, it should raise the matter in the National Assembly.
