Summary The Sindh Assembly unanimously passed the Bill against illegal weapons to maintain law and order.
PPP member Pir Bachal Shah presented a motion to purge the province of illegal weapons. The house passed the motion and ordered the law enforcement agencies to launch a campaign against criminals and illegal weapons. Provincial Minister for Youth Affairs said that the MQM had also submitted a motion in the National Assembly against illegal weapons. He stated that that it was difficult to bring a dinner set from Chaman instead of bringing a truck of weapons.Provincial Minister for Food Nadir Mugsi said that they would submit their weapons voluntarily if illegal weapons were recovered from dacoits. Opposition Leader said that peace would not be restored until the police officials were posted on merit. Information Minister Sharjil Memon said that everyone should play its role in purging the province of illegal weapons.
