Summary Lahore High Court has declared Haj Umra policy null and void and directed to deal it transparently.
Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Justice Sheikh Azmat and Justice Umar Ata Bandial conducted hearing of the case. The lawyers on the behalf of more than 20 complainants prayed the court that 650 tour operators had not been given quota on merit. The lawyers of Federal government as well as ministry for religious affairs told the court that quota was divided on the direction Saudi government, adding that they have awarded quota the very people who were rendering their services in this regard for many years.High Court said in its judgment that government has violated quota system with the direction that if government has made any contract with Saudi Arabia, it should be public.
