Summary The authorities of the ministry have opposed the shifting of ministry to the provinces.
A meeting of 18th Amendment Implementation Commission was held under the chair of its chairman Raza Rabbani. The shifting of the Food and Agriculture and Minorities ministries to the provinces was reviewed in the meeting. The authorities of the Agriculture Ministry said that 39 out of 41 functions of the ministry should be operated by the centre.Talking to media after the meeting, Raza Rabbani said that 10 ministries have been shifted to the provinces while different functions of 6 ministries have also been shifted to the provinces.According to the constitutional amendment, June 30, 2011 is the last date for shifting of the ministries to the provinces.
