Summary The government will end subsidy of Rs 12 billion on electricity.
Electricity price may increase by 2 percent, as a result.The government was gradually ending subsidy given to PEPCO under the programme of international financial institutions.Almost 35 percent subsidy has been ended during the last 1.9 years due to which the government saved Rs 2.10 trillion. Now price of per unit of electricity has reached up to Rs 7.08.
