MUZAFFARGARGH (Dunya News) – A district and sessions court in Muzaffargarh on Friday handed over former MNA Jamshed Dasti to police on four-day physical remand in an oil-tanker robbery case.

The former member national assembly was produced before the court by police where the court granted him four-days physical remand and directed police to present him before the court on next hearing.

The Awami Raj Party (ARP) chairman was nominated in two different cases of abduction of oil tanker driver and theft of oil.

The oil tanker driver stated police that Jamshed Dasti along with some police officials and others abducted the staff of oil tanker and theft 40,000 litre carbon diesel worth Rs4.3 million when they were travelling from Quetta to Multan on December 21, 2019.

Dasti was arrested after a second case was registered against him on Feb 4 in the said case. The police had caught two colluders and two police officers in relation to the looting oil tankers.

It was reported that Dasti had help from local police officers. A former Union Council chairman, Malik Ajmal, and a trade union leader Malik Abid have also been taken into custody.
