Summary Despite a decrease in the electricity shortfall, no reduction was made in load shedding duration.
According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), the electricity production jumps up to 14,563 megawatt while the demand is 15,073 megawatt that leaves a shortfall of only 510 megawatt. The water resources are producing 5,519 megawatt, whereas thermal power production is delivering 1,910 megawatt of electricity.The Independent Power Producers are generating 7,036 megawatt.Despite the fact that the gap between demand and supply has shrunk to only 510 megawatt, no relaxation was made in electricity load shedding. The power outage is varying between 10 hours a day in the urban areas and 16 hours a day in the rural areas.
