Summary Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Chairman Tauqir Sadiq has been sent on a forced leave.
According to sources, the government has advised the Public Service Commission to verify Tauqir Sadiq‘s eligibility as OGRA Chairman. The qualification for the post of OGRA chairman came under light in the Senate after which the eligibility was challenged in the Islamabad High Court.The petition against him states that the British University from which Tauqir Sadiq did his LLB and LLM degrees, does not exist. After the matter of eligibitly caught the government’s attention, the Public Service Commission was advised to review the matter.
