Summary The United States intelligence agency, CIA, has shut down three secret centres in Pakistan.

According to Los Angeles Times, two CIA offices have been closed in Peshawar and one in Quetta in a clear sign of deepening trust deficit between Pakistan and the United States after military operation in Abbottabad.Islamabad had told the US administration to reduce its number of troops in the country and had demanded the closure of three military intelligence liaison offices called fusion centres. The centres were used for sharing satellite imagery, target data and other intelligence with Pakistan army troops conducting operations against insurgents. The decision of withdraw will not affect the CIAs ability to launch drone attacks in the tribal areas of the country, the paper said.
