According to Pakistan Electric Power Company, the country is witnessing a shortfall of 1,910 megawatt at the moment.In Lahore, 6-8 hours power outage has made the life of common man miserable. The people in Karachi, apart from four hours scheduled load shedding, are also witnessing long hours of power cuts due to technical faults.Residents in Peshawar and its suburbs are also facing hardships due to 14 to 18 hours of power shutdowns. Most parts of the city are without drinking water.The power loom industry in Multan was badly affected by 14 hours of load shedding which rendered thousands of workers jobless. The jobless workers have threatened to besiege Multan Electric Power Company offices to record their protest. In Bahawalpur, areas near by-pass are without electricity for the past three days. The angry resident staged a protest and also blocked the traffic for four hours.
