Summary Foreign diplomats would now require a permit to visit specific locations in Pakistan.
The government has decided to regulate the movement of foreign diplomats and nationals present in the country. In a high level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Rehman Malik in Islamabad, the Foreign Ministry was requested to inform the foreign diplomats and nationals about the new rules.In the meeting, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government forwarded recommendations that the people travelling to Afghanistan should be on a biometric system.The meeting was briefed that a comprehensive policy has to be devised to regulate the movement of Afghan nationals in Pakistan and a meeting would soon be held with all the parties to discuss the matter at hand.The Interior Ministry also ordered strict monitoring of banned organisations and banned their social and political activities.
