KESC, employees dispute put people in trouble

The electric supply in several areas has been suspended for the last few days.The electricity crisis has turned severe due to strike of KESC employees which continues for the 21st day in front of the press club.According to KESC sources, the electric shortfall ranges between 400 to 600 megawatts and four and half an hour’s routine wise loadshedding continues in Karachi.However, due to cable faults and other technical reasons, the power outage in different areas is playing havoc with the lives of people. The power supply could not be restored even after 13 days in Bheempura on Nishtar Road.The electric supply is suspended for last three days in several areas including Sadr, Clifton, Kemari, Shirin Jinnah Colony, PIB Colony, Gulistan-e-Johar and New Karachi. While, electric supply is partly suspended in different blocks of PECHS.Yesterday, the citizens had also protested against the prolonged loadshedding in the city.
