The member who has majority of the support from the opposition members would be nominated as the opposition leader.According to the old rules, the opposition leader was nominated by the largest group in the opposition. Currently the largest opposition group is held by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) with 13 members along with six PML-N senators.
