IRSA discusses construction of barrage on Kalabagh Dam site

A meeting of Indus River System Authority (IRSA) was held in Islamabad. IRSA Chairman Rao Irshad Ali headed the meeting.The construction of a barrage at the site of Kalabagh Dam and storage of 2 crore hectare feet water reservoir on emergency basis was discussed in the meeting. The participants of the meeting suggested that an agreement should be inked with Afghanistan regarding the matter of Kabul River water.The meeting also suggested that the direction of Chitral River should be changed and connected to Panjkora River instead of Kabul River. IRSA meeting also discussed the construction of Katzara dam on Indus River and Guroh Dop Dam on Swat River.
