Court rejects Moonis appeal

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the petition of Moonis Elahi, seeking separation from NICL suo moto case. The court observed that the action against Moonis could not be separated from the case as all the matter was linked. The CJP said that relief according to the law was everyone’s right and no special relief could be awarded to anyone. The court ordered the trial court to hear the case without affecting the suo moto action. The FIA director legal informed the court that complete challan of the case had not been presented as investigation was also underway.
