Summary Khawaja Asif has said the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) quota was distributed on political grounds.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Asif filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the irregularities in awarding the LPG quota. A three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Justice Javed Iqbal, heard the case.Asif told the court that the quota was given to the people who did not have any business background.Retired generals, Khalid Maqbool, Muneer Hafeez and Mueenuddin Haider, two former National Accountability Bureau chairmen and politicians were among those who were given the LPG distribution quota.To fix the self determined prices, the quota beneficiaries companies formed their cartels, he said.
