Summary The Lahore High Court (LHC) has linked the 2011 Hajj and Umrah policy with the courts orders.
A lawyer, Azhar Siddique, and 16 other people had challenged the 2011 Hajj and Umarah policy, maintaining that the policy was formed by discarding the merit and the people were awarded the quota on the basis of political affiliation. The Ministry for Religious Affairs additional secretary recorded his statement in the court and said that the Hajj policy was formed with the consultation of the Saudi government.The court said that a stay order was not issued against the Hajj policy.Former religious affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi has already been arrested under corruption charges.
